About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Stroke Medicine to join a high-performing NHS stroke service. You will lead and deliver high-quality stroke care across inpatient and outpatient pathways, with access to state-of-the-art diagnostics, therapy teams, and collaborative multidisciplinary support. This is a vital role as the Trust strengthens its Hyperacute Stroke Unit and develops thrombectomy and rehabilitation services.
Main Responsibilities
Lead daily stroke ward rounds on the Hyperacute and Acute Stroke Units.
Conduct and support TIA and follow-up clinics.
Participate in the thrombolysis rota (including remote advice).
Provide clinical leadership in collaboration with Acute, General, Neurology, and Geriatric Medicine teams.
Liaise closely with community stroke rehabilitation teams and allied health professionals.
Support education for trainees, FY doctors, and medical students.
Engage in audit, quality improvement, and research activity (e.g. SSNAP).
Attend governance meetings, contribute to clinical strategy, and assist service development.

Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
MRCP (UK) or equivalent
Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
Experience of stroke medicine in the NHS

Strong clinical background in Stroke Medicine
