About the Role:

Join our dynamic team of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons at Consultant level.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking Outpatient clinics.
  • Working within the dedicated Head and Neck Ward to support your In-patients.
  •  Working with 1established Orthognathic surgeon and 3 experienced Orthodontists in dedicated join clinics.
  • Surgical planning is assisted by CBCT and 3D printer facilities with comprehensive lab support.
  • Following patients throughout their clinical pathways.
  • Working within a busy unit, dealing with approximately 100 new cases of cancer per year within with fully integrated multi-disciplinary team with Macmillan CNS and speech and language therapy unit.
  • On Site: Intensive Care, Radiotherapy, Pathology Services, CT & MRI, Chemotherapy Day Unit services.

 

About You:

  • GDC Registration.
  • Possession of both a Medical Degree and Dental Degree from UK recognised institutions.
  • Intercollegiate Fellowship Examination in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an SAC approved 5 year minimum training programme in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, or within 6 months of completion
  • Demonstrate appropriate training in Deformity Surgery
  • 5 years of evidence of training within the NHS required for the specialty with validated surgical logbooks.

We are looking for applicants to join an expanding team of Acute Medicine Consultants who are interested in progressing our journey of service development and innovative working within Acute Medicine. Acute Medicine works closely with the Emergency Medicine team and all Medical Specialities, and you will be involved in the development of clinical processes to improve patient outcomes and experience. The successful applicant, along with the other Acute Medicine Consultants, will be responsible for the care of patients on our Acute Medicine Unit and Acute Medicine Assessment Centre (Assessment and SDEC/Ambulatory care). You will be supported by a full multi-disciplinary team, which includes a junior medical team and Advanced Nurse Practitioners. The Trust has a strong Medical Education department, and the post holder would have a significant educational role, particularly in educational supervision of our IMT doctors and students.  Applicants should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in Acute Medicine and we would entertain applicants seeking to work in Acute Medicine and another specialty.
