Indigo Healthcare is proud to partner with a modern hospital in the North of England currently seeking a Consultant or Locum in Stroke Medicine to join their expanding team.
The Stroke Department sits within the Directorate of Elderly Care, Stroke and Rehabilitation, under the Speciality Medicine Collaborative. The service manages approximately 700 stroke patients annually across the region and sees around 20 patients per week in the Neurovascular Clinic at the Trsut.
The Trust has a Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit (HASU), comprising 10 HASU beds, 25 acute/rehabilitation beds, and an additional 15 acute/rehabilitation beds. The successful candidate will join an established, forward-thinking team with the opportunity to shape and further develop a high-quality stroke service across the region.
The department delivers a 7-day stroke and TIA clinic model, accelerating diagnosis and treatment, and supporting integrated pathways into community care.
Main Duties of the Role:
Provide high-quality care for patients with stroke and related conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Work collaboratively as part of a growing multidisciplinary team of six Consultants.
Participate in the provision of a 7-day stroke service including TIA clinics.
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of stroke care within the Trust.
Engage in teaching and supervision of medical trainees and multidisciplinary colleagues.
Participate in the on-call rota and emergency care as required.
Opportunities for Special Interests:
The Trust welcomes applicants with additional interests in Elderly Care, Neurology, Acute Medicine, or Pharmacology, which can be accommodated within the role.
Essential Requirements:
Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (within 6 months of interview), CESR, or European Community Rights.
MRCP or equivalent.
Significant clinical experience and competence in Stroke Medicine.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Commitment to education, clinical governance, and continuous professional development.
Desirable Criteria:
Postgraduate qualification.
Experience in business planning or service development.
Research publications or involvement in postgraduate supervision.
Experience teaching non-medical professionals and holding an educational qualification.
Personal Qualities:
Effective and approachable team member.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
A positive and proactive approach to service improvement and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Other Requirements:
Must be able to travel or be based within 30 minutes of the hospital.
Participation in the on-call and emergency service is essential.

Locum Consultant Paediatrician – Diabetes +/- Endocrinology (12-Month Fixed-Term)
10 PAs + 5% On-Call Supplement
A 12-month fixed-term opportunity is available for a Locum Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in diabetes, and optionally endocrinology, to join a supportive and forward-thinking paediatric team.
Role Overview:
Participate in Consultant of the Week and twilight rotas.
Cover night shifts (4 per 10-week cycle), with rest days either side.
Conduct diabetes (4) and general paediatric clinics (up to 10) per 10-week cycle.
Up to 6 endocrinology clinics and 4 joint clinics with a regional tertiary centre, depending on experience.
The Team:
You'll work with an experienced paediatric diabetes team, including specialist nurses and youth workers. The department values collaborative care, education, and innovation, with support for leadership development and research.
Requirements:
GMC registration and MRCPCH (or equivalent).
Experience in general paediatrics, diabetes, neonatology, and safeguarding.
APLS/NLS (within last 4 years).
Strong communication, leadership, and teamworking skills.
Desirable:
Experience or training in endocrinology.
Higher degree or specialist registration.
Involvement in teaching, audit, or research.

Senior Clinical Fellow – Emergency Medicine (ST4+ Equivalent) Location: East Midlands, UK Contract: 12 months, starting August 2025
Basic salary: £61,825 (with enhancements bringing total earnings to approximately £74,000–£75,000)
An opportunity is available for a senior doctor to join a high-performing Emergency Medicine team at a major UK hospital. The successful applicant will work at registrar level, receiving clinical supervision from Emergency Medicine consultants available on-site 24/7. The role includes monthly teaching days, dedicated development time, and ongoing support from assigned educational and clinical supervisors.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must have:
At least 6 years post-MBBS (or equivalent), including experience in an Emergency Department (ED)
ALS and ATLS provider certification
Full MRCEM (FRCEM is desirable but not essential)
Minimum 1 year experience at ST4 level or above in an ED within the NHS
