Job Overview

An NHS Trust in North West England is seeking a Locum Consultant in Anaesthesia to join the Anaesthetic Department .This is a 23-month locum consultant position with a focus on General Anaesthesia and Obstetric Anaesthesia.

The successful candidate will contribute to delivering a high-quality anaesthetic service for surgical and obstetric patients, while participating in the consultant on-call rota for these services. The role involves minimal ICU ward responsibilities, making it particularly suitable for consultants whose primary interest is in general and obstetric anaesthesia.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consultant-level anaesthesia for general surgical and obstetric procedures

  • Participate in the on-call rota for general and obstetric anaesthesia

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary clinical team

  • Contribute to clinical governance, teaching, and service development

  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and perioperative care


Essential Requirements

  • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice

  • CCT / CESR in Anaesthesia or equivalent recognized training (or ability to work at Consultant level)

  • Demonstrated experience in General Anaesthesia and Obstetric Anaesthesia

  • Willingness to participate in consultant on-call duties

  • Experience working within NHS or equivalent healthcare systems
