Essential Criteria
Full GMC registration with license to practise
MRCP (UK) or equivalent
Broad-based acute/general medicine experience, including AMU
Commitment to clinical audit and evidence-based practice
Experience teaching medical staff and students
Desirable Criteria
Subspecialty interest that complements acute care
Previous consultant-level experience in AMU or ambulatory care
Evidence of educational leadership or curriculum design
Management training or NHS leadership experience
Acute Medicine - Locum Consultant Substantive Consultant
North West

We are looking for applicants to join an expanding team of Acute Medicine Consultants who are interested in progressing our journey of service development and innovative working within Acute Medicine.
Acute Medicine works closely with the Emergency Medicine team and all Medical Specialities, and you will be involved in the development of clinical processes to improve patient outcomes and experience.
The successful applicant, along with the other Acute Medicine Consultants, will be responsible for the care of patients on our Acute Medicine Unit and Acute Medicine Assessment Centre (Assessment and SDEC/Ambulatory care). You will be supported by a full multi-disciplinary team, which includes a junior medical team and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
The Trust has a strong Medical Education department, and the post holder would have a significant educational role, particularly in educational supervision of our IMT doctors and students.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in Acute Medicine and we would entertain applicants seeking to work in Acute Medicine and another specialty.
Key Duties:
Leading ward rounds on the AMU, supporting junior doctors and the multidisciplinary team.
Post taking patients within ED and SDEC
Supervision of patients returning to SDEC (ambulatory clinic)
Acute Medicine outpatients
Educational and clinical supervision of junior doctors
Attendance and input into departmental and medical meetings

Consultant Geriatrician (fixed term contract)
A forward-thinking NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Geriatrician to join and further develop its evolving Frailty Unit within a dynamic Acute Geriatric Service. This new role addresses the growing demand for specialist, multidisciplinary care for older patients with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide daily senior reviews on the frailty unit
Opportunity to pursue special interests (e.g. pre-operative assessment, oncogeriatrics)
Work alongside a team including ACPs, frailty-trained nurses, and junior doctors
About the Service: The unit currently has 19 beds and is transitioning to a 16-bed model with 4 ambulatory chairs to support rapid assessment. The team is supported by experienced ACPs and a strong nursing workforce with frailty expertise.
Essential Requirements:

A medium sized district general hospital in Cheshire is actively seeking a dedicated and dynamic Acute Medicine Consultant to join its esteemed team.
Responsibilities:
As an integral part of the Acute Medicine team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients within the Acute Medical Unit which has 38 beds. Collaboration with a comprehensive multi-disciplinary team, including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, experienced nursing staff, physiotherapy and pharmacy services.
Requirements:
Extensive experience in Acute Medicine.
GMC registration.
Advantageous to be on the specialist register or due to complete CCT or CESR (in Acute Medicine or General Medicine with a special interest) within 6-12 months.
MRCP/FRCP qualification.
