Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine – Permanent Post
Location: Scarborough, UK
Job Type: Full-time | 10 PAs | 1:8 On-Call


We are working with a well-established NHS Trust on the East Coast of England seeking a Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine (ICM) to join their dedicated multidisciplinary team.
This is a permanent, full-time position based at a modern District General Hospital with a strong emphasis on clinical excellence and team collaboration.

Key Highlights:
  • 10 PA Consultant contract in ICM
  • 1:8 on-call Rota with 2.8 on-call PAs per week (Category A)
  • Supportive team environment with opportunities to develop and lead
  • Hospital-based accommodation requirement: must reside within 10 miles (or 30 minutes by road) for on-call duties
Essential Criteria:
  • GMC full registration with license to practice
  • FRCA or equivalent, with FFICM Accreditation
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register for Intensive Care Medicine (or within 6 months of CCT/Portfolio Pathway (CESR) approval at interview)
  • Demonstrated independent clinical experience in ICM at Consultant level
  • CV must reflect the relevant skills and experience for the specialty
Desirable Criteria:
  • Post CCT Fellowship in ICM or relevant subspecialty
  • FICE/FUSIC accreditation
  • Instructor qualification in Life Support courses (ALS, ATLS, etc.)
Additional Information:
  • Virtual Technical Panel Interview followed by an in-person Advisory Appointment Committee
