We are seeking a dedicated Consultant in Acute Internal Medicine to join the expanding team at a leading Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust in West Yorkshire. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, consultant-led care across Acute Medical Units and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) services.

About the Role
In this position, you will:

Provide daily consultant-led input to acute medical patients
-
Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds and contribute to SDEC services
-
Offer clinical leadership to junior doctors and allied health professionals
-
Actively participate in teaching, audit, quality improvement, and service development
A provisional job plan will be discussed upon appointment and reviewed within the first six months.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
-
GMC registration with a license to practise
-
Substantial experience in managing acute medical conditions in hospital settings
-
Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care
-
Experience in teaching and supervising junior medical staff
-
Evidence of involvement in audit, clinical governance, or quality improvement
-
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Desirable Criteria:
-
Subspecialty interest aligned with the department’s needs
-
Experience in Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
-
Completion of teaching or postgraduate education qualifications
-
Published research or evidence of research involvement
-
Prior experience in the NHS as a consultant or senior clinician
