About the Role:
We're seeking a Consultant or Locum Consultant in Acute Medicine with an additional leadership opportunity as the Head of Acute Medicine (a 2 PA role + £10K responsibility payment, 3-year term).
With a state-of-the-art Same Day Emergency Care department, a spacious Acute Medical Unit, and a Short Stay Unit, you'll work alongside a team of Consultants, Registrars, junior doctors, ACPs, and Physician Associates. It’s a fast-paced environment full of learning opportunities, supported by trainees and students.

Main Responsibilities:
✔️ Rapid triage, assessment, and safe discharges.
✔️ Leading ward rounds and identifying morning discharges.
✔️ Supervising junior staff and ensuring quality care delivery.
✔️ Supporting teaching for medical trainees and students.
✔️ Driving service improvement and innovation.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
- GMC registration with inclusion on the Specialist Register (or within 6 months of eligibility) for a substantive candidate.
- GMC Registration and senior experience within Acute Medicine for the Locum Consultant opportunity.
- MB ChB or equivalent, with MRCP or equivalent qualifications.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teaching skills.
Desirable:
- Higher degree (MD/PhD) and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Management training and IT skills.
