This is a substantive role, offering the chance to contribute to service development, innovation, and delivery of excellent patient care within a dynamic NHS Trust. 🔑 Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality clinical care for patients admitted under Acute Medicine. Participate in the acute take, including assessment and early management of acutely ill patients. Contribute to the development of ambulatory care pathways and same-day emergency care. Supervise, support, and train junior doctors, medical students, and other healthcare staff. Engage actively in audit, clinical governance, and quality improvement projects. Play a role in shaping and improving acute medical services within the hospital and Trust. ✅ Person Specification Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Acute Medicine or General Internal Medicine OR within 6 months of attaining CCT at the time of interview (with Specialist Registration by commencement date). Consideration may also be given if evidence can be provided that the GMC is actively processing your Specialist Registration application (MUST be available before interview). Proven NHS Consultant-level experience is desirable, but exceptional candidates nearing CCT will also be considered. Strong leadership, teaching, and teamwork skills. This substantive post offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care, service development, and innovation within Gastroenterology and Hepatology. 🔑 Key Responsibilities Deliver expert clinical care in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Provide endoscopy services, including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Participate in acute medical take and inpatient gastroenterology care. Contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and patient pathways. Lead and support junior doctors, medical students, and specialist nurses. Engage in audit, research, clinical governance, and service development. ✅ Person Specification Essential: Possession of MRCP (UK) or equivalent. Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Gastroenterology (or within 6 months of attaining CCT at interview). Alternatively, possession of the European Speciality Examination in Gastroenterology & Hepatology (or equivalent). Desirable: Previous NHS Consultant-level experience. 📌 Consultant Haematologist – Myeloma Location: Derbyshire Salary Range: £109,725.00 – £145,478.00 Contract Type: Fixed Term – 6 Months (not hourly rate) We are seeking a Consultant Haematologist with a subspecialty interest in Myeloma to join a well-established Haematology team across Derby and Burton Hospitals. This is an excellent fixed-term opportunity for 6 months, with the chance to contribute to high-quality patient care and multidisciplinary services. 🔑 Role Details: Clinics: 2 dedicated Myeloma clinics + 1 General Haematology clinic per week Clinics mainly based at Derby, with occasional requirement to cover Burton site Ward attendance: 2 weeks every 8 weeks On-call commitment: 1 in 12 (weekends & weekdays) Provide advice, guidance, referrals and laboratory cover as required ✅ Requirements: Consultant-level experience in Haematology Subspecialty expertise in Myeloma GMC registration and eligibility to work in the UK This role offers a unique chance to work within a supportive, forward-thinking Haematology department and make a real impact in Myeloma care. 📩 To express interest, please send your updated CV and availability.
