Starting a new position as an NHS doctor in the UK? You will need to open a bank account for your salary to be paid into. There are a number of different banks in the UK, but generally, they all work in the same way.

You will first need to decide
what sort of bank account you need, and then you can compare and
choose which bank to go with.
Opening your Account:
To
open a bank account, you usually have to fill in an application form. Often, you can do this in a branch or online, and sometimes you can also do this over the phone.
You will be required to provide proof of your identity including your full name, date of birth and address. You usually have to show the bank two separate documents that prove who you are, for example, your passport, and where you live, for example, a recent bill.
